Eva Loona Smith with Fine Folk is a Folk and Americana group based in Long Beach, CA. Led by Eva Loona Smith, the band is made up of Eva on vocals and guitar, Dani Pickard on vocals, Sasha Ortega on vocals, Jack Sneddon on guitar, banjo, and mandolin, Eddie Oliver on keys, and vibraphone, Christopher Xue on fiddle, and Mathew Marsico on bass. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, and Billie Holiday, Eva writes in Danish and English. Fine Folk has performed at numerous venues and folk showcases/festivals on the West coast. Their debut album, "In Spirit of the Rain," was released in June of 2024, and they are releasing their first EP, “Songs for Patricia Lee”, in January of 2025.
Eva Loona Smith with Fine Folk's mission is to fuse genres and musical styles together from the inspiring roots of Folk music. The band believes unity is possible through music alone with the message it promotes, and the community it creates. They believe in “Music for the people, by the people”. Eva Loona Smith with Fine Folk wants to bring live music back in full swing! All of their music is recorded live in the studio, and all of their live shows are creative and diverse every time. The name "Fine Folk" is nearly a translation of their message, as it represents how by holding true to the unifying roots of folk music, people will be just fine.
