Back in 2020, my producer Jimmy Goings was posting a “Love Song Of The Day” every day on Facebook before the 2020 Presidential election. One day on my exercise walk, I listened to his posting of “How Can I Be Sure” by the classic ‘60s rock/pop band The Rascals. I was so moved by this gorgeous song I had totally forgotten about, I told Jimmy we HAD to record our own version and he immediately obliged. It completely echoed what was happening in my own life at the time, as much as if I had written it myself. This led to my good friend “Master Of All Media” famed rock journalist/DJ/author Ben Fong-Torres, star of the award winning documentary “LIKE A ROLLING STONE: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF BEN FONG-TORRES” playing my song on his Moonalice Radio show, right after “Groovin’” by The Rascals. This inspired me to get my cover of “How Can I Be Sure” to Felix Cavaliere, leader and founder of The Rascals (formerly The Young Rascals), currently touring as Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals. Felix contacted me personally to praise my version of one of his favorite compositions and this has led to a wonderful friendship, where I have been an invited guest at Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals shows multiple times and he contributed to this testimonial video for SOLILOQUY.
