I originally wrote the first version of this soulful country/rock song in Nashville by my good friend/hit songwriter Billy Lee (“The One” – Gary Allan) back in the early 2000s. It was inspired by a combination of what we were both going through in our personal lives at that time. Fast forward to 2022 and my producer Jimmy Goings and I deciding we wanted an powerful up-tempo song to close out SOLILOQUY. After going through my catalogue, we decided to re-write an updated version of this original song, with enthusiastic permission by co-writer Billy Lee. It became the musical backdrop for exactly what I was experiencing in my own life at that time. The result is my personal anthem of empowerment, after experiencing love, heartbreak and the ultimate victory of letting go and moving on.
